This line of thinking makes me want to bang my head against the wall. Even my parents, who thankfully are intelligent enough to dislike Trump, have bought into the “war on christmas” bullshit. NOBODY is trying to destroy Christmas, it literally just makes you more money when your christmas message includes people of other faiths because why would you want to exclude them?? So obviously that is what corporations opt for. It doesn’t mean there are a bunch of people getting offended by “merry Christmas”

I dated a guy with a wrangler. He couldn’t afford to properly have it lifted and whatnot, just a DIY body lift and some big tires. The thing was a hunk of junk... super uncomfortable. Going over speed bumps at anything over a crawl was physically jarring and painful. He would practically slow to a stop for speed bumps.... then, after driving all over the vast mall parking lot and going over a dozen speed bumps, find a tall curb or something stupid so he could drive one tire onto it and park it there so we could walk a mile to the mall.  Absolutely. My dad died 5 years ago (he was only 63) and it broke me a bit. I felt smaller and less real somehow. I cant not think about the fact that my mom is getting older. We have dementia on both sides of the family and I will absolutely hate seeing my mom that way. I still need her and have no idea what life will be like (or how I will do it) without her, but I know I will be smaller still. Merrick Garland was nominated in March of 2016 and the GOP Senate said it was too close to an election. It's now September of 2020, so let's see what they say... I'm guessing they completely flip flop shamelessly. Perhaps Mitt Romney, in a newsworthy act of defiance, will briefly consider resisting before confirming whoever Trump nominates. Also, in the mother of all compromises, Trump could actually nominate Merrick Garland and that would be just fine by me. (Fat chance that would happen.)
