I just got back from a 6 day stay at inpatient for suicidal ideation and the amount of people who yearn for their mothers after they’ve hurt/attempted to kill themselves and have sat with the loneliness of the numbing psych ward...was unreal. It made me cry several times to see how at the root of it all we just want our mothers (flawed or not) to hold us and let us know we are okay.

Canadian institutuons would be made to take unfavorable deals with us partners so that a breakup would be more painful. Simultaneously they would encourage discontent in the population so we turn on each other instead of the outside threat. They don't need to invade to take over. From what I've heard, that's exactly what happened. The showrunner saw that some people on the internet predicted a major plot point, so they rewrote a bunch of it. Which is such a stupid thing for a writer to do. Who cares if some people predicted it as long as it's still a good story?
